Crazy Egg is Live

I am not sure how I will use this heatmap thingy, but it is pretty neat.

Flat Tax Rant

Every now and again I get the following: “Oh, you’re a tax attorney? What do you think of [insert name of random Congress man/woman]‘s flat tax / consumption tax proposal?”

Let me see you signing statement this one away….

More Cynical Than Usual

Today I was reading “Tax Notes” (yes, kids…I still pretend to be a tax lawyer).

Generally, I read the cover than then jump to the “quote of the week” to find out what is notable in the world of tax … ho hum, ho hum.

For the week of August 7, 2006, this was the quote:

That stopped me in my tracks. What could he possibly be accused of?

I continued reading and learned that this retort was in response to questioning “about allegations that the agency’s layoffs of estate tax auditors are a backdoor method of repealing the estate tax.”

Now, I know I am being cynical here…but why is the SF Bay Guardian the only news organization that is still reporting on this story?

Not even Bill Gates is in favor of repealing the estate tax.

I know…it's been a long time….

So here is my start back into the saddle….

New pictures (a lot of them) are now up on Flickr.

Enjoy.
