I want to share a little link love with those of you that haven’t seen Gary Vaynerchuk’s video wine blog at http://tv.winelibrary.com.
Gary V seems to be honestly fed up with the snobbery that is found in the mainstream wine “establishment”. Gary is trying, through hype, flash and showmanship, to shake normal people out of a belief that wine is only for rich snobs. He is also trying — by being as “down to earth” / “blue collar” as he can be — to convince folks to start trusting their own tastes again. Gary has a — “If you like a Pinot Noir with a decked out hot dog, go for it” — attitude that I find refreshing and commendable.
I have been watching for about a month now (his shows are about 20 minutes each and are taped daily during the week) and don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.
Today’s show is definitely worth watching.
If you like wine or want to like wine…I recommend that you give Gary V a “whirl”.
