Just so it doesn’t get lost…and because everyone and their uncle keeps asking me the same question…HERE IS THE LINK to the WSJ article discussing whether (and how) Matt Murphy, the 21-year-old student from New York that caught Barry Bond’s 756th home run ball, should be taxed in respect of the catch. Why does everyone keep asking me? Who knows…maybe it is because it would make a great exam question and I used to teach income tax to graduate accounting students. Regardless, I have nothing to add to the WSJ Article and maybe that indifference is because I am not a big fan of Barry.
